Auto Bavaria Unveils John Cooper Works Model And Extended Mini Showroom

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 August 2008 – Auto Bavaria, a fully-owned subsidiary of the Sime Darby Group, recently unveiled the John Cooper Works MINI Model at an opening party for the newly extended MINI showroom at its Auto Bavaria Bukit Bintang premises, right in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur.

The Bukit Bintang MINI showroom is the first MINI showroom in Malaysia and is now enhanced to provide its customers with the complete MINI experience. It features a larger and more vibrant exhibition area, enabling visitors to experience MINI’s full range of offerings as well as a wide range of eclectic merchandise from the exclusive MINI Lifestyle and Accessories collection. Customers may also feel more at ease with the chic and comfortable lounge, making the MINI showroom at Bukit Bintang an ideal hangout for any MINI enthusiast.

The MINI showroom officially opened its doors with a fun-filled launch party on Saturday, which was attended by 150 enthusiastic guests. The setting felt like a trendy club, with an illuminated cocktail bar and sublime party music by popular turntablist DJ Gabriel. However, the highlight of the party was when Auto Bavaria unveiled the all-new John Cooper Works MINI Model in conjunction with its nationwide launch campaign.

Speaking at the opening party, Auto Bavaria Managing Director Mr. Mathias Heimann said, “The MINI is one of the most successful stories in the modern automotive world. It redefined design and handling and it continues with innovation through the launching of customised new products. We are excited to be able to offer this highly anticipated and hottest addition to the MINI family to our customers in Malaysia in this chic new showroom.”

The MINI John Cooper Works claims a top speed of 238 km/h and acceleration of 0 – 100 km in 6.5 seconds. Equipped with a high performance engine, transmission, exhaust and brakes, the John Cooper Works is shod with 17-inch wheels and a host of racing features, such as a Sport Button with sound tuning and a sport leather-bound steering wheel. On top of all this, it boasts the signature John Cooper Works Aerodynamic kit, making it the sportiest drive possible.
