First Ever Combined Land Rover and Alfa Carnival

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 June 2008 - The first-ever combined Land Rover and Alfa Romeo Carnival turned out to be a hit when more than 800 Land Rover and Alfa Romeo owners and enthusiasts turned up to snap up some incredible bargains.

The two-day event saw visitors turning up at the Section 13, Petaling Jaya showrooms as early as 8.30am on the first day, despite the fact that the event was only to begin at 10.00am.

An enthusiastic crowd rapidly built up at the Parts Centre and long lines soon formed at the cashiers with everything from apparels to gearboxes quickly selling out due to discounts of up to 80 per cent. For example, 17-inch Trek alloy rims for the Land Rover Freelander were on sale at an amazing RM150 per piece.

Great bargains aside, Land Rover and Alfa owners took the opportunity to send their vehicles for a free 20-point health check. Visitors to the carnival also test drove the latest models such as the new Defender 110 PUMA pick-up and the luxurious Range Rover Sport 4.2 HSE Supercharged from Land Rover and the sleek GT Coupe and 147 2.0 Selespeed hatchback from Alfa Romeo. The acclaimed Land Rover Freelander 2 was also on static display.

Inside the Land Rover showroom, a classic 1958 Land Rover Series 1 similar to that used by former Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman during the declaration of independence was the centre of attention.

Children were kept busy with movies, a futsal challenge, fish and turtle catching competition, face painting, and the dogs and cats from the PAWS Animal Welfare Society. A free flow of food and drinks ensured that it was a perfect outing for the entire family.
